Restoration is a leading collaborating agency promoting training on the prevention and intervention of addiction and related mental health.
Restoration is committed to reduce the harms of substance abuse through education, prevention, and intervention in our community.
Restoration will use all grants awarded and fund raising efforts to pay for the following four areas of intervention: drug treatment at the intense outpatient level in 5 counties in California currently with the intention to have financial assistance in more locations throughout California in 2021 forward; Community education with local coalitions , public and private high schools, Universities, Hospitals, Religious groups, recreations and select sports organizations, sheriff and law enforcement collaborations, juvenile courts collaboration, and involvement with local policy makers; Eagala certified equine therapy that takes places at local ranches (currently we are affiliated with Hearts Landing Ranch, Granite Bay, CA and Change Your Lead, Petaluma, CA and looking to get specific funding for the barns needs i.e., covered arenas etc). This equine work is for people who are struggling with addiction with focus on specialized groups (veterans, teens, those with complex trauma and addiction) and incarcerated populations (Folsom State Prison in Sacramento County). Restoration has a contract to provide individual education to the men and women currently incarcerated at Folsom State Prison in an effort to prepare them for re entry to the community with an on going after care group once released. The pilot intervention will be integral in the efforts to identify the complex factors involved that make up the current body of research in reducing recidivism rates. Restoration will be part of the solution in the fight for health, wellness, and recovery in our communities.
Additionally within the marijuana vaping culture, there is an increase of the THC content in the marijuana from 2-3 % THC to 74%-94% THC. Insurance companies are rejecting primary marijuana addiction diagnosis and families are seeing significant decline in mental health with marijuana addiction. The increase in opiate addiction is another specific population where there is identified need for IOP treatment for those without financial means. Our long-standing relationships and collaboration with our local medical doctors prescribing anti-craving medications will benefit our clients. This problem indicates a greater need for Restoration’s services. Our local teens and parents are in need of preventive education about the vaping product industry that is targeting the youth and college age adults. Schools are calling weekly with questions about how to address this in their schools with the parents and other local coalitions trying to get the education to the community. Our ability to offer alternatives to typical talk therapy will give our clients the opportunity to find recovery through equine therapy.
Finally Restoration is committed to reaching undeserved populations evidenced by our new contract with Folsom State Prison.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
